A little fluff ball that tidies up behind you.
Most Mac cleaners run on fear: red warnings, huge numbers, “your Mac is at risk”. Fussel does the opposite. He looks around quietly, explains every file and never throws anything away without you.
He lives in your menu bar, blinks now and then, and once a week he lets you know if fluff is piling up.
Calm
No alarm colours, no exclamation marks. Just sizes in GB and plain words.
Honest
Every item says what it is and carries a clear label: Safe to Remove, or Review First.
Forgiving
Everything goes to the Trash first. Undo is always right there.
One scan, five places where space hides.
The overview shows how much is used, where it goes, and what each tool found. Your four biggest folders and your last clean-ups sit right below.
Nothing goes without you.
Fussel never touches system files, Apple’s apps, your keychains or your own folders. A last check guards every single item, and automatic tests guard that check.
Can go without a second look
Caches and logs that apps rebuild by themselves. Picked for you, so one click is enough.
You decide
Big files, old downloads and apps. Never picked for you; have a look first.
Everything lands in the Trash first, so you can put it back anytime.
Light, Dark, Glass or Oreo.
Follow your Mac, or pick one. Glass lets your desktop shine through, softly blurred. Oreo pairs a white sidebar with a dark main area.
What it finds stays on your Mac.
No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Fussel only goes online for these, each only for its own job:
Asks GitHub at most once a day whether a new Fussel is out. You can turn that off.
Only when you check: the App Store, and each app’s own update feed.
Only when you start it, with macOS’s own tool and Apple’s servers.
Scan results, file lists and your clean-up history never leave your Mac.
Three steps, about a minute.
Download
Fussel-Installer.zip. Your Mac unpacks it to Fussel-Installer.pkg; open that.
Open Anyway
Fussel isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks once. In System Settings › Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway.
Say hi
Click through the installer. Fussel greets you with a short tour and asks for Full Disk Access, so it can see everything.
From then on, Fussel updates itself with one click. Prefer drag and drop? The release page also has a disk image.
